In addition to the usual features available in a market town, a shopping centre, public library with temporary membership access, restaurants, pubs and so on, there is also a swimming pool open to the public and an 18 hole golf course situated within walking distance of the centre of the town. For those golfers interested there are in fact four courses situated within 30 minutes by car from Dereham. Average green fee would be around 25 pounds for 18 holes.
